Developer Hazelight has produced several of the best co-op games, and for its next project, the It Takes Two studio is looking to blur the worlds of fantasy and sci-fi together in Split Fiction. Preorders are now live for the game ahead of its March 6, 2025 release, and you can grab a copy of it for PC, Xbox Series X|S, or PS5.
Split Fiction Preorder Bonus
EA has not announced any preorder bonuses for Split Fiction, but we’ll update this post if any are confirmed.
$50 | Releases March 6, 2025
Split Fiction is currently available in a $50 standard edition. It includes the base game plus a cross-play Friend Pass, which allows one user who owns the game to invite a pal to join them, even if they haven’t purchased it–meaning you only need to purchase one copy of the game to play this co-op adventure. And since it’s cross-play, you PS5, Xbox, and PC players can all play together.
Physical PS5 and Xbox Series X preorders are available at Best Buy. Digital preorders are available on PC, Xbox, and PS5.
First revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Split Fiction tells the story of Mio and Zoe, two would-be writers virtually transported into the fictional worlds they’ve created, and now have to rely on each other to escape back to the real world. Like other Hazelight-developed games, Split Fiction is a two-player co-op experience, and both players will get to master various abilities as they work their way through each level. There are also optional side stories to dive into, based on stories from Zoe and Mio’s pasts that they worked on as kids or teens or started in adulthood but never finished. You can read more about the game in our Split Fiction preview.
