Naughty Dog has long been rumored to be developing a sci-fi IP, but the project could lead to an unfortunate overlap with another PlayStation studio.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s all-new sci-fi IP, currently in development exclusively for PS5. The four-and-a-half minute announcement trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is rendered entirely in Naughty Dog’s proprietary game engine and reveals a stunning cosmic setting, complete with a huge red star, glowing blue horizon lines, and a shattered moon. The rest of the trailer focuses on a new protagonist named Jordan, who will be played by actress Tati Gabrielle. Interestingly, a recent rumor alleged that Naughty Dog’s next project is codenamed Jordan, which has now been validated.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Story Details
According to Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is set on a mysterious distant planet dubbed Sempiria that has had no communication with the wider universe for hundreds of years. Apparently, every explorer who ventures to Sempiria to decipher its “mysterious past” is never heard from again. “Dangerous bounty hunter” Jordan A. Mun ends up stranded on Sempiria and will have to utilize all her “skills and wits” to be the first person to escape the planet in over 600 years. Much like Naughty Dog’s previous games, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet touts an “emotional, character-driven epic journey.”
Rather excitingly, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is also said to feature Naughty Dog’s deepest and most innovative gameplay to date. Further details about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, such as its release window, have yet to be revealed. This might be announced in 2025, but for now, Naughty Dog fans are rejoiced to finally learn about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
